Job Description

 

The Senior Purchasing and Inventory Control Specialist will oversee the activities of all purchasing of raw materials and supplies, maintaining and analyzing warehousing data for inventory control.

Job Type: Full-time

Essential Duties

  • Purchases supplies, raw materials, and equipment for the company.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability;

  • Develops and maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used, present purchasing and inventory reports and analyses as required.

  • Maintain appropriate and accurate inventory levels of product to avoid stock-outs while minimizing excess inventory.

  • Negotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times.

  • Communicate and maintain all aspects of relationships with authorized vendor partners, including evaluating vendor fit on an ongoing basis and providing input regarding new vendors and product lines.

  • Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.

  • Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a role that encompasses purchasing, and inventory management.

  • Experience in restaurant or food-related industry is a plus.

  • Proficient written and communication skills in English and Chinese Mandarin required.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, experience with ERP software, as well as inventory software is a plus.

  • Detail-oriented, ability to be a team player and meet deadline.

  • Adaptability/Flexibility with the ability to react quickly to changing requirements from internal and external conditions while maintaining good communication with all parties involved.
